The Dorcas Foundation was established in 2016 to provide for the basic needs of families who had experienced trauma during the course of ethnic civil war.

The foundation oversees three programs: a rehabilitation center for civil war trauma victims, an orphanage and school to care for war orphans, and a vocational program to promote healing through art and to provide skills for people unable to return to their previously held jobs.
